Tv24 desk : Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Award 2021 is the only popular award for awarding social innovative work using digital technology every year. The event is being organized by Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Forum.
The application process for this year’s event began in early May, with applications submitted through the Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Forum’s event’s official website (www.bdsis2021.com). On May 20, 2021, the application process was officially suspended. This time, 1,008 participants from 29 countries applied for the Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Award 2021 in a total of 08 categories.
Initially, nomination letters have been issued to 152 people. Those who have been nominated and those who are in the process of the 2nd step will have a virtual Q&A session through WhatsApp. The final nominees will then be given final nominations. From May 26, we will officially publish the finalists in the form of banner images on our website, including the Facebook page, on all social media and our UN SDG partnership platform and through official press releases.
If you want to know the details of this year’s exceptional event, the spokesperson of Bangladesh Digital Social Innovation Forum Md. Ali Akbar Asha told us,
We will try to give some special benefits in this event for the selected ones. Notable among these are UN SDG Academy Scholarships, UN Office Visits and Participatory Contributions to the SDG Global Fest in Germany, Job Opportunities as a Social Worker in Canada, Fellowships, etc. In this regard, we have already concluded agreements with two of the world’s most popular foundations. Highway IT has collaborated with us as our IT partner in all our activities. And Canada Highway Migrant Services will assist in the migration process. We’ve changed our regular award selection process a bit to provide special benefits. Last year, in the year of Mujib, we organized this award in the name of Bangabandhu.
Since I now live in Ottawa, Canada, our event will be held simultaneously in Bangladesh and Canada. We will announce the date of the event very soon through our official press release. Md. Sharif Mahmud, Secretary of the Foundation is working from Bangladesh on logistical support in the whole process and Md. Ibrahim Hossain, Vice-President of the Foundation is working under the supervision of registration and providing special facilities.
He further said that since 2016, we have been organizing this event in a continuous manner every year. Bangladesh’s reputed organizations, including individuals, various startup now established them are bringing them to the world through this platform honors. Through this, the winners of our past awards have gained great international fame.
BDSIF has been organizing this award ceremony every year since 2018. Its main goal is to ensure the growth of technological innovation and social change and to organize the youth society for social change through the use of digital technology. We are the United Nations SDG Partnership Registered Platform (#SDGAction31605), each year our goal is to highlight the social innovation work of young people at the SDG Global Festival of Action.
