Computer Handover for Transgender Empowerment Project

TV24 Desk: On the memorable occasion of the Rotary Club of Dhaka North West’s 48th Installation Event, a significant step was taken towards realizing the objectives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Rotary Club of Dhaka North West and Hope and Peace Welfare Organization (HPWO) for the “Transgender Empowerment: Training and Inclusion for Equality” project.

The event, held on September 5, 2023, at an esteemed gathering attended by distinguished guests, marked the official handover of computers to HPWO, which will serve as the foundation for the training center designed to equip transgender individuals with essential digital skills.

Honorable District Governor Rtn Ashrafuzzaman Nannu, Mr. Shykh Seraj, Director & Head of News, Channel I, District First Lady Ms. Natasha Zaman, Rtn Ilmul Haque Sajib, President of the Rotary Club of Dhaka North West & Project Chair Rtn Selima Khatun were present in the Dias.

The handover ceremony was a poignant moment symbolizing the commitment of the Rotary Club of Dhaka North West and HPWO to empower the transgender community by providing them with access to technology and training.

Mr. Shykh Seraj, Director & Head of News, Channel I, acknowledged the importance of media in promoting awareness and acceptance. He pledged support for the project’s communication initiatives to create a more understanding and inclusive society.

During his address, Honorable District Governor Rtn Ashrafuzzaman Nannu lauded the collaborative efforts of both organizations and emphasized the significance of empowering marginalized communities for a more inclusive society. He commended the Rotary Club of Dhaka North West for taking a leadership role in this transformative project.

Rtn Ilmul Haque Sajib, President of the Rotary Club of Dhaka North West, expressed his heartfelt dedication to the project and highlighted the club’s long-standing commitment to creating positive change in the community.
