e-CAB Mobilizes Massive Relief Efforts in Flood-Affected Areas

TV24 Desk: The E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) with the support of dedicated volunteers, has successfully launched a large-scale rescue and relief operation to assist thousands of people affected by the recent floods.

On Wednesday night, many responded to Vice President Ambareen Reza’s urgent call, and speedboats were swiftly dispatched. Since Thursday, Mastul Foundation volunteers have rescued over a thousand people from flood-affected homes, despite speedboats taking over 20 hours to navigate flooded roads.

Despite unprecedented challenges, e-CAB volunteers from Feni to Comilla have been tirelessly using boats and trawlers to rescue stranded people, showing great courage by leaving their families to join these missions. The association is now focusing on sending more boats and essential relief supplies to speed up the rescue efforts. They plan to send three more boats and relief packages for 2,000 people, including vital food and medical supplies.

The situation in shelters is critical, with many evacuees falling seriously ill due to a lack of medical facilities and supplies. e-CAB is urgently working to set up medical camps in these areas to address the crisis.

Vice President of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (ECAB) Ambareen Reza emphasized the importance of collective action during these trying times, stating, “Our volunteers have shown extraordinary courage, and it is now our responsibility to support them in every way possible. If they can risk their lives to save others, we can certainly provide the financial support they need.”

The relief materials required at the moment include:
2,000 kg of flattened rice (chira)
2,000 kg of puffed rice (muri)
1,000 kg of sugar
500 kg of dates
2,000 boxes of biscuits
20,000 packets of saline
20,000 water purification tablets
2,000 strips of NAPA
2,000 strips of Filmet

To sustain these efforts and ensure the continued delivery of relief, e-CAB is seeking support from all corners. Donations can be made via Bkash, Nagad, or directly to the following bank account:
