Sonia Bashir Kabir joins Dell’s CXO advisory Board

Tv24 Desk: Tech Giant ‘Dell Technologies’ appointed Sonia Bashir Kabir to its Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) CXO Advisory Board. 22 members across Asia have been chosen to join Dell’s APJ CXO Advisory board. The appointment has been confirmed recently (4th February, 2021).

The CXO Advisory Board is an engagement platform for select senior leaders representing a range of industries and verticals that collaborate together with executives from Dell Technologies to explore business, cultural and technology issues with the goals of advancing technology, solving business problems, and furthering business value for each of the Board’s members. The Board is a working group that brings together diverse perspectives in a collaborative forum. All CXO Advisory board members will be under NDA.

Sonia is the 1st Woman Tech Venture capitalist in South Asia and is currently the Founder of SBK Tech Ventures (a venture capital company) and also the Founder of SBK Foundation (a not for profit organization).

Besides Dell’s CXO Advisory Board, Sonia has board roles in both international and local organizations.

Internationally, Sonia currently serves as Vice Chairman in the Board of United Nations Technology Bank, appointed by the UN Secretary General. She is also currently serving as Member of the Governing Board of UNESCO’s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP).

It may be highlighted here that in 2016, when Sonia was serving as the Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, she was 1 of the 10 recipients of Microsoft’s Prestigious Founders Award given by Bill Gates. She received a Rolex watch as a gift from Bill Gates himself.
Locally, Sonia currently serves in the boards of Banglalink owned by VEON Group, BRAC University, IPDC, Shakti Foundation and is the Technology Advisor for the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI).
