EBL Women Banking presents Sonia Bashir Kabir in EBL Women in Leadership (WIL) Panel. Educated & Trained in Silicon Valley, Sonia began her career as a Tech Corporate Professional in the Valley where she lived for 20 years and worked for Fortune 500 companies like Sun & Oracle.
Currently Sonia is the Founder of SBK Tech Ventures, the first women-led impact Venture Capital for tech start-ups in South Asia and the Founder of SBK Foundation, her not for profit which aims to empower rura l communities with technology.
She is Vice Chair & Governing Council Member of United Nations Technology Bank and Board Member of UNESCO’s MGIEP.Sonia serves on boards of BRAC University, Banglalink, IPDC, Shakti Foundation and is Tech Advisor for FBCCI. Sonia relocated to Bangladesh in 2006 and served as the COO for aamra Technologies, Director for Microsoft South East Asia, Country Director for Dell Bangladesh and last but not least Managing Director of Microsoft for Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal Bhutan & Laos.
