JCI Bangladesh and BFF Forge New Path for National Development

Techvision24 Desk: Empowering youth and fostering leadership have become critical to building a prosperous Bangladesh, and sports, particularly football, offer a dynamic platform to achieve these goals.

Recognising the transformative power of sports in developing skills, resilience, and teamwork, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) have come together to initiate a collaborative effort aimed at inspiring the next generation and revitalizing football in the country.

As part of this effort, JCI Bangladesh hosted an idea exchange session titled “Road to Glory” at Club JCI Ltd. in Gulshan, Dhaka on 12 December, bringing together key leaders from both organisations to discuss strategies for increasing football’s popularity, building grassroots capacity, promoting life skills training, and ensuring career opportunities for athletes after retirement.

During the event, BFF President Tabith Awal highlighted the importance of sports in uniting communities and inspiring the youth. He remarked, “Football has the potential to transform lives and build stronger communities. By partnering with JCI Bangladesh, we aim to raise awareness, develop young players’ capacities, and expand the reach of football nationwide. JCI Bangladesh can also seek to collaborate with global organizations like FIFA and AFC to secure international funding and elevate the sport to new heights in Bangladesh.”

JCI Bangladesh National President Imran Kadir emphasized the importance of skill development and post-career opportunities for athletes. He stated, “This discussion is the first step to join hands together with BFF. It will not only about advance football but also equip players with essential life skills and employability for their post-football careers. Together, we aim to create sustainable opportunities for young athletes while fostering leadership and resilience among the youth.”

The event also explored avenues for strategic collaborations to revive the golden age of football in Bangladesh, leveraging JCI’s expertise in youth leadership and BFF’s vision for football development. BFF Vice-President Fahad Karim stressed the importance of building a positive image of football in Bangladesh and engaging the community to rekindle enthusiasm for the sport.

Notable participants included BFF member Monjurul Karim, JCI Bangladesh National Executive Vice President Arefeen Raafi Ahmed, and National Treasurer Kazi Fahad, who spoke about the immense potential of football to inspire the youth and foster national pride.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to using sports as a platform to empower youth, develop leadership, and drive sustainable growth in Bangladesh’s football ecosystem. By combining JCI’s focus on youth development and BFF’s expertise in sports, the collaboration is poised to set a new benchmark for leveraging football to create meaningful social impact.
